John P. Chartier, 52

John P. Chartier, age 52, of Mansfield, passed unexpectedly, yet peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, June 23, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Laura A. (Ahern) Chartier, to whom he was wed on September 10, 2000 and the devoted father of Jack M. Chartier and Michael R. Chartier.
Born in Attleboro, MA on September 14, 1968, he was a loving son of the late Earl R., Sr. and Barbara E. (Maloon) Chartier.
John resided in Mansfield for most of his life. He grew up in town and was a 1986 graduate of North Attleboro High School. For the past thirty-five years he worked faithfully as a land surveyor for his uncle Ralph Maloon at R.I.M. Engineering in Mansfield.
John was an exceptional husband and father who did everything and worked extremely hard for his family. He loved attending his sons sporting events and will always be remembered as an easy-going man who could always be counted on to lend a helping to others at a drop of the dime.
Along with his family, John was a communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield. He loved being outdoors which included gardening, hiking and spending time at the ocean. John also had a special interest for photography and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his beloved wife and devoted sons, he was the dear brother of Earl R. Chartier, Jr. of Lowell, Jane E. Chartier of Attleboro, Linda J. Chartier of Mashpee, Joseph M. Chartier and his wife June of Attleboro and Suzanne M. Rawcliffe and her companion Derek E. Titus of Attleboro. He was the adored son-in-law of Roseleen Ahern and her loving companion Thomas Lardner of Mansfield and the late Michael Ahern, Sr. He was the cherished brother-in-law of Michael Ahern, Jr., Stephen Ahern and his wife Kathy and is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Monday, June 28th from 9:30 A.M- 10:30 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street., Mansfield.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 28th at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt Street (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.
