WORCESTER___Uwe T. "Ted" Konrad, 71, of Worcester, died Friday March 31 in Saint Francis Home.
He leaves two sons, Karl T. Konrad and his wife Lori of Jefferson and Robert M. Konrad of Worcester; his former wife, Jean (Lareau) Richard of Worcester, two brothers, Gerhard Konrad of Natick and Detlev Konrad in Germany; a sister, Irene Steiner in Germany; two grandchildren, Ashley and Auriel Konrad and nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a brother and a sister, Harold Konrad and Lisa Rice. He was born in Meldorf, Germany, a son of Theodor and Ursulina (Wirth) Konrad and has lived here since 1953.
Mr. Konrad was a tool and die hardener for PresMet Corporation and worked there 30 years before retiring in 1993. He was educated in Germany. Mr. Konrad was a veteran; he served in both the U.S. Army and the Army National Guard of Massachusetts. He enjoyed sports including baseball and football.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday April 4 at 11 a.m. in DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will be held from on Tuesday April 4 from 10 - 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
