Ernest S. Jones Jr., 65, of Windham, NH, passed away Monday June 21, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 25, 1956 in Ipswich, MA, a son of the late Anna (Baker)Saulnier Jones and Ernest S Jones, Sr. Ernest went to Essex schools through 8th grade then to Gloucester High School. Following high school, he went on to train at ITT Tech in their automotive repair program. He achieved a welding certificate from LIBURDI Diametric Orbital Welding, then completed a certificate from Harley-Davidson University's mechanic program as a technician (his favorite educational achievement), and most recently he completed his heavy equipment operations level one in 2010. He had held jobs with Baker's Commodities and Evo Cycle in Manchester, NH. His hobbies were working on anything with machines, riding and working on bikes, and camping. Most of all, Ernest loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 12 years, Sue Ellen (Philbrook) Jones of Windham; six children, Joseph Jones and partner Chrissy Madruga, Brandon Jones and partner Jordan Horne, Ryan Jones, Julia Zappa-Jones and husband Antonino, Patrick Beers and wife Heather, and Jamie Harrington and husband Dale, nine grandchildren, Kyle, Logan, Caitlyn, Peyton, Brandon Jr., Samuel, Nina, Killian, and Liam; two brothers, Charles Saulnier and Richard Saulnier, one sister Sharon Equi, his best friend, Pat Nugent, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three siblings John E. Saulnier, Frank E. Jones, and Lillian Ann Saulnier; and two nephews Kevin and Joseph Nathan Saulnier.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a Celebration of Life will be held by the family on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 4pm at the Elks at Bass Rocks, 101 Atlantic Road, Gloucester, MA.
