Patricia M. “Patsy” (Shields) Aucella, age 86 of Brockton, died peacefully, June 18, 2021. Patricia was the loving wife of the late Arthur T. Aucella. Born in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Thomas F. and Margaret T. (O’Leary) Shields. She was raised and educated in Cambridge and was a graduate of Cambridge High School. For over 42 years, Patricia was employed at John Hancock Insurance Company in Boston.
Patricia was extremely proud of her family and enjoyed every moment she had with them. She was always surrounded by her cats whom she adored. Patricia loved to travel. Some of her favorite places were Hawaii with her husband; Disney with her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren; and Ireland and England with her sister and brother-in-law. Patricia enjoyed life to the fullest.
Patricia was the devoted mother of Bonnie L. Pietragallo and her husband John of Tyngsboro and the fabulous and sassy grandmother of Alexandra and Kerri Pietragallo. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, William O’Neil and his wife Diane of TN, Bruce O’Neil and his wife Gina of Pembroke, and David O’Neil and his wife Mindy of Brockton, as well as great nieces and nephew Brittany O’Neil, Kelly O’Neil, Allison Wilson, Shane O’Neil and Katelyn Wilson. She was the sister of the late Joan C. O’Neil and Thomas F. Shields.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Tuesday, June 22, 4-7pm, followed by a funeral service at 7pm. Burial will be held at a later date in Melrose Cemetery.
