FLORIDA – Mary Natalia Monteiro, age 91, passed away on June 10, 2021 at Bethseda Hospital East in Boynton Beach, FL. She was the loving wife of the late Raymond Soares Monteiro. Born in Bretanha, St. Michael, Acores, she was the daughter of the late Francisco de Sousa Farias and Maria (da Gloria) Farias.
Mary was wonderfully devoted to her 10 children: Ana M. Monteiro of Boynton Beach, FL, Elizabeth M. Monteiro of Providence, RI, Edward J. Monteiro Knight of Houston, TX, Raymond A. Monteiro of Asheville, NC, Theresa M. Monteiro of N. Dighton, Pauline M. Monteiro of Groton, MA, Joann M. Martin of N. Dighton, Natalie M. Monteiro of Tallahassee, FL, Christine M. Gabriel of Dighton, Kenneth R. Monteiro of N. Dighton; sister of Clara Garcia of Swansea, Ana Farias of Providence, RI and the late Vasco, Raul, Peter, Paulo, Francisco, Luis, Helena and John Farias; grandmother to 16 Grandchildren and 4 Great-Grandchildren; mother-in-law of Katie Knight Monteiro, William A. Fitzgerald, Patrick J. Martin, Christopher F. Gabriel and the late Kevin D. Porter; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends, who will sadly miss her.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate a mass of Christian burial at St. Nicholas of Myra Church at 11 A.M. on Tuesday, June 22nd. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Somerset.
