Frederick Stevens, 83 of Abington, passed away Sunday June 13, just nine days shy of his 84th birthday.
Freddie grew up in Chelsea, MA and was the oldest son of the late Fred and Mabel Stevens. He was predeceased by his brothers John and Thomas Stevens.
Fred is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Donna (McIver) Stevens of Abington, his daughters Dawn Lonergan and her husband Chris of Brockton and Mary McKenney and her husband Bruce of Hanson, and his cherished grandchildren, Holly & Matthew Lonergan of Ohio. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Franny and Betty Stevens and his adoring nieces Loreen and Lisa Stevens of Medford as well as many other nieces, nephews and great friends.
Freddie was a hardworking man who loved to talk, laugh, play cards, play cribbage, go fishing and most of all spend time with his family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend his visiting hours on Friday June 18 from 4:00-7:00 PM with a service to follow at 7:00 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. A private burial will be held at a later date.
