Susan E. Modrak passed away unexpectedly in her Truro home, on May 11, 2021. Born September 19, 1946, she was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Estelle Modrak and a sister, Nancy Moriarty.
Sue grew up in New Britain, Conn. and was a graduate of Central Connecticut State University. An outstanding athlete, she spent her summers at the family cottage at White Sand Beach in Old Lyme, Conn. Until her death, Sue cherished the memories of playing baseball, swimming and living an unrestrained life at the beach.
Most of her life was spent in Provincetown, where she enjoyed her involvement in the local theater groups on the Cape. She was an avid fan of musical theater and would frequently go to New York City to enjoy all the latest Broadway plays. She loved music and dancing and particularly enjoyed going to concerts, especially performances by her close friend, Cyndi Lauper.
Sue’s fun-loving personality will be sorely missed by all and we will always remember her smile and laughter.
Sue is survived by her sister, Beth (Paul) Gozdeck, brother John (Susan) Modrak and nephews Mark & Eric Modrak and Brett Gozdeck. She also leaves her dear cousins, Philip (Christine), Gregory and Leslie Medon as well as Pam Pellet (Bob). Sue will also forever be missed by her closest friend, Cassie Spaulding, who gave her unconditional support and love. In addition, her Lobster Pot “family”: as well as her many friends in Provincetown will all cherish the many wonderful times they had together and remember her as a kind and generous soul.
Sue’s life will be celebrated at a later date, to be announced.
