Dorothy (Brodeur) Chretien, 78, of Westport passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at St. Anne's Hospital. She was the wife of Robert E. Chretien, Sr.
Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Edward and Diana (Carvalho) Brodeur, she had lived in Westport since 2013. Prior to retirement, she was a C.N.A. at Charlton Memorial Hospital and Hospice Outreach at St. Anne's Hospital. She was a Communicant and member of the Holy Rosary Sodality of Espirito Santo Church, Fall River. Mrs. Chretien was a Girl Scouts Leader Troop 1148 of the former Notre Dame Church, Plymouth Bay Council, Cub Scout Master of Pack 18 of the former Immaculate Conception Church and a member of the Moby Dick Council serving as Assistant District Commissioner, Holy Ghost Society of Westport, St. John's Holy Ghost Society of Fall River and the Dominican Third Order, formerly out of Rose Hawthorne Chapter Fall River. She enjoyed crocheting and ceramics.
Including her husband, survivors include a son: Robert E. Chretien, Jr. and his wife Karen of VA; 2 daughters: Lori A. Barry and her husband Joseph of FL and Diane M. Leandro and her husband Scott of Westport; a sister: Nancy Chretien of Tiverton; a brother: Joseph Nunes of Swansea; 7 grandchildren: Cassandra Facchiano (Nicholas), William Chretien, Steven Chretien, Gary Gregory, Thomas Platt, Valerie Gregory and Victoria Leandro; Dominic Facchiano and 7 other great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was grandmother of the late: Angel Jamie Leandro and sister of the late Patricia A. St. Laurent.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Thursday, June 17, 2021 from the Potter Funeral Home at 8:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Espirito Santo Church, 311 Alden St., Fall River at 10:00 A.M.
Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
