Francisco Monteiro (99) of Brockton died June 8th in the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. He was the husband of Joana (Vieira) Monteiro of Brockton.
He was born in Patim, Fogo, Cabo Verde, son of the late Filipe Monteiro and Candida (Pina) Monteiro. Francisco is predeceased by his wife of over 60 years, Isaura Vieira de Andrade Monteiro and his only sister, Armanda Pina Monteiro Espinola of California.
Francisco worked in the food service industry as a factory worker. He enjoyed listening to music, playing the drums and guitar, loved eating chicken and socializing with family and friends. Francisco was also know as a “ladies man”.
In addition to his wife he is survived by 3 sons, Armando Monteiro of California, Aquino Monterio of Brockton and Adolfo Montiero of New Bedford, 7 daughters, Armandinha Monteiro of Brockton, Candida and Paula Monteiro both of Portugal, Marta Monteiro, Joaquina Rodrigues, Oriza Rodrigues and Maria Santa Monteiro all of Cape Verde, deceased daughters, Maria Felipa Monteiro, Francisca Monteiro, Aldina Monteiro and Violante Gomes (Monteiro), many grand, great grand and great great grandchildren.
Visitation in the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel, 238 Court Street Brockton Monday June 14th from 5-7 pm. Funeral Services in the Funeral Home Tuesday June 15th at 9 am. Private Burial to follow.
