Lucy Ramirez Bellant went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the morning of June 8th, 2021.
Lucy was born on January 3, 1926 to Vincente and Ambrosia Ramirez in Scottsdale, Arizona. Vincente had visited Carpentaria in the early nineteen forties, and after laying eyes on the breathtaking tides at the beach, he went back to Arizona to move his family there, leaving everything else behind. From that point forward, Lucy became a lifelong resident of Carpinteria.
In 1961, she married Mr. Earl Bellant and moved to Whittier, CA where she remained for 14 years. She moved back to Carpinteria in 1975 to work as a kindergarten teacher’s aid at Canalino Elementary School, which she described as “the happiest times of her life”. However, once her mother became ill, Lucy decided to resign from her position in order to care for her full time.
Lucy is now joined in Heaven with her parents, her sister, Antoinette “Toni” Borrello, brothers, Lorenzo and Guadalupe Ramirez, and her beloved son, Terry Bellant. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass will be held on Friday June 18th, 2021 at 2:00pm at Saint Joseph Chapel on Ash and 7th Street. A burial will follow immediately after at the Carpinteria Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, Ventura.
