Craig J. O’Connor, age 56, passed away on June 8, 2021 at his home at Crystal
Springs, Assonet, MA. Craig was the precious son of the late Jeanne M O’Connor of Belmont and Dr. James H. O’Connor of Palm Springs, CA. He was the loving brother of Kimberly O’Connor Markey and her husband John of Belmont, Carole Gates and her husband Wayne of Natick and the late Mark O’Connor of Cambridge. He will be dearly missed by his niece Caroline Markey Welch and nephews Christopher O’Connor, Bobby Markey and Michael and
Matthew Gates.
Craig loved life and showered all of us with his unconditional love. He lit up our lives,
spreading joy all around and leaving his loving mark on our hearts and souls.
Craig loved God and God loved him. If you were lucky enough to know Craig, then you
know that he was devoted to his faith, regularly attended Mass at St Bernards Catholic
Church and watched it along with all of his other favorite Catholic programs on the
EWTN.
Craig lived at his home at “40 Narrows'' and was the “Mayor” of Crystal Springs. His
housemates Jimmy and Tom were like brothers whom he loved dearly. All the current
and former members of Crystal Springs became his big beautiful adopted family. Each
and every one of you, too many to single out, are extra ordinary individuals. He knew
you all by name, welcomed you with open arms, giving you his generous bear hugs,
kisses, high fives, and “Hi Ya’s”. You always came away happier just by spending time
with him.
Special recognition goes out to the Crystal Spring’s All Stars of his care - Kathy
Ducozski, Al Silva, Eunice Pedrozo, and Amy Pawelezyk along with the entire dream
staff of 40 Narrows, together with all the nurses and entire day hab staff.
Craig will now join his mother Jeanne and his brother Mark in eternal rest.
May a flight of angels and saints welcome him into Heaven.
A wake will be held at 8:00 AM on Saturday, June 12th at St Bernard’s Catholic Church,
30 South Main Street, Assonet, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 AM and a 1:00 PM
burial at Highland Meadows Cemetery, 700 Concord Ave, Belmont
