The family of Marie Louise (Brunetti) Petitt sadly announces her passing on Sunday, June 6, 2021.
Marie was affectionately known as “Dolly”, a nickname given by her grandmother at birth.
She attended Franklin public schools and graduated from Franklin High School in 1947. Dolly was an active participant in her yearly class reunions. She fully embraced her teenage pride in being a ‘bobby soxer” and loved listening to Frank Sinatra all her life.
Dolly married the love of her life and soul-mate Everett James Petitt, Jr. on August 17,1947. They moved into their home in Franklin, which they lived and loved in for fifty-nine years.
They had five children resulting from this union. Dianne Rose DiNunno, Lauren Ann Greene, Marianne Bazinet, Everett James Petitt, 3rd, and Timothy John Petitt.
In addition to her children she is survived by ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Later in life as an empty nester, Dolly worked at Dean College, Boston Sports Club and Kiessling Transit Inc.
Marie was a communicant of the Church of Christ. Marie is loved and missed, and will always be remembered as a strong family woman.
Everett passed away in 2006, having missed him for fifteen years; our family finds solace that they are now together again. Marie has joined her forever love at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
Arrangements are under the care of the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com).
