Margie Roberson, 80, of Cross, South Carolina, died Friday, June 4, 2021, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 P.M., Thursday, June 10, 2021, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald. Interment will follow in Lax Holiness Cemetery, Coffee County, Georgia. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Wednesday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Roberson was born August 12, 1940, in Fayette, Alabama, to the late Willis Lee & Thelma Ozell Haley Holloway. She worked for many years as a textile worker. She also worked in a school cafeteria. She lived in South Carolina for the past 20 years. Mrs. Roberson was always a fighter and a warrior. She was a strong foundation for her family and had an active and successful prayer life.
She is survived by four daughters: Jane Browning of Cross, South Carolina, Judy Purvis of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Jewell Browning of Cross, South Carolina, and Jean Burns of Cross, South Carolina; grandchildren: Daniel & Connie Gladney, Tonya White, James & Wendy Brooks, Precious Flanery, Johnathon Callahan, Christopher Jacobs, and Brandy Jacobs; 13 great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Sandra & Henry “Buck” Leslie of Lax and Linda Holloway of Virginia. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Herbert Browning and Ron Roberson; a son, Johnathon Browning; two grandsons: Geoffrie Jacobs and Joshua Gossett; three brothers: Homer Holloway, Randy Holloway, and Henry Lee Holloway; and two sisters: Doris Baldree and Violet Guthrie.
