Obituary

Blondean “Dean” Baker Snow Harbin Porter, beloved Mama and Granny Dean, 84, of Enigma went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at her son’s residence, surrounded by her family. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 12, 2021, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Tim Henry and the Rev. Jerry Hewatt officiating. Mrs. Porter will be laid to rest at Enigma Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday afternoon, June 11, 2021, at Mrs. Porter’s residence, 152 Main Street in Enigma and from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 11, 2021, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Paul Hewatt, David Sleeper, Rodney Chapman, Kenneth Overstreet, Drew Overstreet and Caleb Jones will serve as pallbearers.

Born October 24, 1936, in Enigma, Mrs. Porter was the daughter of the late Jesse Daniel Baker and Edith Inez Harrell Baker. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Ira Paul Snow; her second husband, John A. Harbin; one son, Kenneth Paul Snow; one stepson, Lamar Porter; and two brothers-in-law, J. C. Cone and Jerry Cooper. She graduated in the Class of 1984 from Western Kentucky University. She was a registered nurse and worked at Tift General Hospital for 13 years, as well as a businesswoman and a teacher at Moultrie Technical College. She was a member of Independent Worship Center in Tifton.

Mrs. Porter is survived by her husband, Fred J. Porter of Enigma; one son and daughter-in-law, Ira Glenn and Glenda Snow of Tifton; her grandchildren, Janice, Kenneth and Drew Overstreet, Paul Snow, Julie, Billy and Caleb Jones; her stepchildren and their spouses, Cheryl and Don Koehler and Robert Harbin, all of Tifton, John Harbin, Jr. and Ronald and Iris Harbin, all of Enigma, Joyce and Jerry Hewatt of Monroe and Marsha and David Snipes of Snellville; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Betty and Tommy Lawhorn of Norman Park, Montoya Cooper of Acworth and Linnie Cone of Tifton.

The family would like to thank the staff of Bethany Hospice, the staff of Dogwood Senior Health Center in Nashville and Georgia Home Health for their special care of Mrs. Porter.
