Obituary

Edward Donald Luchetti II left an impression wherever he went. From his birth in Passaic, New Jersey, to his childhood in Brownville, Maine, and from London to Hong Kong to Los Angeles, in the words of his cousin Jack, everyone he met was a friend and a peer. Intelligent, funny, easy-going, with a phenomenal memory for political information, and movie-star good looks, he was called to theatrical endeavors. He wrote and directed “Local Terms” for the Hong Kong Theatre Festival in 1992, and co-wrote and starred in the 1994 English-language Hong Kong feature film “My Mistress, My Wife” directed by Alfred Cheung. He delighted his family and friends with his appearance in the PepsiOne commercial for the 1999 Super Bowl. After enlisting in the Navy Reserves in 2000, he and his wife welcomed Cella in 2001, and Nino in 2003. Edward served three tours of duty in the course of 10 years, in Afghanistan, Kuwait, then Afghanistan again. At the recommendation of Brigadier General Sean Mulholland, Edward was awarded the Bronze Star Medal at the end of his final tour in 2011. After being medically retired in 2017, he earned an Associate’s Degree from Middlesex Community College that same year, and completed a Bachelor’s Degree from Suffolk University, Boston, in May 2021. He leaves his children, Cella and Nino, and his wife, Jemaine, of Winchester, MA; mother, Carol (Quigg) Luchetti, of Thomaston, ME; father, Edward D. Luchetti, of Orono, ME; sisters Lisa Luchetti Belanger, of Boxford, MA and Nina Luchetti of Massachusetts; brother, Mark Rose, of Orono, ME; nephews and nieces Alec and Ben Rose, Caroline and Jackon Belanger, and Eliza Luchetti; brother-in-law Mark Belanger, sister-in-law Betsy Rose; Uncle Robert and Aunt Senga Luchetti, Aunt Alberta "Chippy" Luchetti, uncle by marriage Jim Pedicone, and cousins Donna Rohloff, Renee Rohloff, Brenda Luchetti, Laura Luchetti Gardner, Robert Pedicone, and Debra Pedicone, of New Jersey, Bill Kilby of Holden ME, and Jack Kilby of Vista, CA.
