Joan M. (Lonergan) Lindsey, 84, of Locust Grove, Virginia; formerly of Medway passed into eternal peace on May 30,2021 at her home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Robert E. “Bob” Lindsey.
Born in Boston, December 29, 1936,the daughter of the late George and Alice (Conlon) Lonergan, Mrs. Lindsey had been a resident of Medway for over 45 years before moving to Virginia.
She was a graduate of St. Patrick’s High School in Roxbury, where she played basketball.
Joan had been active in youth activities, St. Joseph Parish, and enjoyed crafts with her friends.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children Gerry Lindsey and his wife Linda of Medway, Joan P. Smith and her husband Kevin of Tucson, Arizona and Sharon M. Cooksey of Locust Grove, Virginia.
She is also survived by her dear grandchildren; Jennifer Lindsey, Matthew Lindsey, Brian Lindsey, Zachary Lindsey, and his wife Megan all of Medway, Shawn Lindsey and his wife Brittainy of Northbridge, and Jackie Cooksey of Virginia.
She is also survived by her brother George Lonergan of Framingham and was the sister of the late Sister Joan Patricia,CSJ of Brighton and Mary Alice Collins of Middleborough.
Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 9 in St. Joseph Church, Village Street, Medway at 10:30.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.
