Craig Andrews Dresser, 66, of Medway died June 2 at Milford Regional Medical Center following a long battle with cancer. He was the husband of Janice A. (Nickerson) Dresser for the past 29 years.
Born in Milford , October 2, 1954 the son of the Elwyn Murray of New York and the late Dorothy (Brown) Murray, Mr. Dresser was raised by his adopted parents the late Francis and Jayne Dresser.
Mr. Dresser was raised in North Smithfield, Rhode Island had lived in Medway for the past 27 years.
Craig had been the owner of New Life Vending Company for 20 years before retiring.
He enjoyed singing in the Medway Community Church Choir, helping with the Community Table, and leading and attending Bible Studies, in his healthier days. At home he enjoyed tending to his yard on his John Deere tractor.
He was an avid chess player and was an avid sports fan, of the Boston Red Sox and Celtics.
Mr. Dresser served in the Navy as a submariner during on the USS Parche as a sonar technician from 1975-1981 on spy missions.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his siblings, Debi Curry and her husband Jon of Gray , Maine, Bryan Dresser of North Smithfield, RI, Becky Shields and her husband Kevin of Uxbridge, Brad Dresser and his wife Renne of Goffstown, New Hampshire, and Daniel Dresser and his wife Cheri of North Smithfield, RI.
He was the brother of the late Jennifer Tucci and Jeffrey Dresser.
He is also survived by his brother-in-law Tony Tucci of Medford and many nieces and nephews.
A homecoming celebration will be held on Saturday, June 12 in the Medway Community Church of West Medway at 10:00 a.m. Private burial services were held in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Uxbridge.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute Prospect Street, Milford, MA 0177.
