Mrs. Evelyn L. (Steele) Silva, a resident of Dracut, formerly of Malden and beloved wife of the late Edward T. Silva, Sr., passed away at her home on Thursday morning, June 2, 2021. She was 99 years old.
Born in Somerville, Massachusetts, on December 22, 1921, she was the beloved daughter of the late Alexander D. and Frances M. (Lane) Steele. In her younger years, Evelyn enjoyed rollerskating and loved dancing with her husband Edward. She will be dearly missed.
Evelyn is survived by her loving children; Linda S. and her husband Carl Palleschi of Salem, Edward T. , Jr. and his wife Linda Silva of Stoneham and Kathleen and her husband William Greenwood of Dracut, cherished grandchildren; William, Collin, Kate, Edward, Marc, Lia, Kevin, Michael, Matthew and Rachel, dear great-grandchildren; Liam, Jacob, Otis, Ozzy, Nora, Bryan, Lily, Jonathan, Harry, Rowan, Finn, Gianna, Drew and Avery and many nieces and nephews. She was also the loving mother of the late Charlene Silva, grandmother of the late Jacqueline E. Greenwood, sister of the late; Charles J. and his wife Barbara Steele, Helen M. Steele, Anne Steele, Frances Steele, Doris Steele, John Steele, Grace Steele and Elizabeth Steele and mother-in-law of the late Cheryl Silva.
Her funeral will be held from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford on Monday, June 7, 2021, at 10 Am followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 514 High Street, Medford, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, June 6, 2021, from 4 to 7 PM. Interment will be held in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
