Christopher Dale Tucker, age 42, of Red Oak, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2021. He was born March 2, 1979 in South Boston, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his father, William “Billy” Tucker; paternal grandfather, Robert Lee Tucker; maternal grandmother, Linda Crowe; and maternal step-grandmother, Paula Wilbourne.
Chris is survived by his wife, Wendy Dunaway Tucker; his two sons, Caleb Tucker and Camden Tucker; mother and step-father, Cindy Wilbourne Simpson and Darren Simpson; maternal grandfather, Jimmy Wilbourne; and paternal grandmother, Pauline Lenhart. He is also survived by three sisters, Miranda Payne, Jessica Tucker, and Kim Paige; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ronnie and Teresa Dunaway; brother-in-law, Jeremy Dunaway; a special niece that he loved as his daughter, Chastity Dunaway; nieces and nephews, Leighan and Layton Payne, Olivia and Gunner Powell, and Carter Shaulis; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was a member of Concord Baptist Church in Chase City and was baptized on March 13, 1994. He was a member of the Bacon District Volunteer Fire Department in Wylliesburg. Chris enjoyed fishing, fox and deer hunting, and running dogs for Hound Heaven Kennels. He was a beloved baseball coach for the Central Middle School Baseball Team and the Charlotte County Baseball Team. He also coached the Charlotte County Football Team. Chris loved his family and his favorite pastime was coaching and attending all baseball and football games for his two boys.
The family will receive family and friends on Saturday, June 5, 2021 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home. A private service will be held at a later date.
