Gabriele “Gabby” Venturo, age 87, of Melrose passed away on Wednesday, June 2. Born and raised in Pretoro, Chieti, Italy, he was the son of the late Paolo and Concetta (Colasante) Venturo. Gabby came to the U.S. in 1953, settling first in Boston’s North End before moving to Melrose 20 years ago.
Gabby was the devoted father of Vincent Venturo and his wife Cynthia of Beverly, and Robert Venturo of Melrose. He was the loving grandfather of Ashley, Brittany and Brianna Venturo, and the loving great grandfather of James. Gabby was the dear brother of the late Vincenzo, Antonio and Angelo Venturo, and is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Gabby will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent in Gabby’s name to Tufts Medical Center Development Office, 800 Washington St., #231, Boston, MA 02111; Attn: Cardiac Care Unit.
