Peggy Holmes Harper, 79, of Irwin County, Georgia, died Monday, May 31, 2021, at her residence.
Graveside services will be held 11 AM, Thursday, June 3, 2021, at Satilla Baptist Church Cemetery, in Irwin County, Georgia, with the Rev. Craig Barnette and Pastor Shane Ashley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the graveside services in the sanctuary of the church.
Mrs. Harper was born January 26, 1942, in Vienna, Georgia, to the late Arlie & Estelle Christmas Holmes. She was an LPN at Tifton Medical Clinic and worked in medical records at Irwin County Hospital. Mrs. Harper was a member of Satilla Baptist Church where she played the piano and she also played for Holt Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children: Christopher L. Harper & Jennifer of Fitzgerald and Pamela Harper Smith & Lanny of Wray; grandchildren: Christen H. Sadler & Brett of Fitzgerald, Kirsten Harper & Michael Thompson of Fitzgerald, Kyle Smith & Hunter of Mystic, Ethan Smith of Mystic, Reid Fletcher, Brilyn Fletcher and Shaw Fletcher, all of Fitzgerald; great-grandchildren: Lindy Thompson, Lexi Thompson and Weston Smith; and a brother, Melvin Holmes & Betty Jean of White Stone, Virginia. Several nieces and nephews also survive and a special friend, Jan Lindsey of Adel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sibling: Betty Smith and William Holmes.
