With great sadness, we announce the passing of De Anne Biggar Joy, 84 - our beautiful, loving, and devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, aunt and great aunt, and Godmother to many, a friend to all whose lives she touched.
De Anne passed peacefully on May 26th, 2021 at 9:33 in the evening in her happy home by the seashore, in Oxnard Shores, Calif - HER HAPPY PLACE!
De Anne was born February 20th, 1937 in Toronto, Canada to parents Emilee and Louis Biggar, of Canada. De Anne was very blessed in many ways and the name JOY was truly perfect as she was a JOY to all those she knew.
She leaves behind with only great memories her son: Rick Van Joy, her daughter: Natalie Joy Siman, her daughter-in-law: Christy Joy, her son-in-law John Siman; her grandchildren: Austin Joy and husband Tyler, Van and wife Mallory, Scotty and wife Eveline, Spencer, and Mari Deanne; her great grandchildren: Piper Joy, Canon, Griffin, Finn, and Waylon Joy; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins
As you can see that” Joy “is a name given to many.
The “JOY” name surrounds our family each and every day; she lived a Joyful life and JOY filled the hearts of all those whose lives she touched.
De Anne enjoyed her life and lived a beautiful existence. A dedicated mother, she treasured children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as GRAMMY to her 5 grandchildren and as GIGI to her 5 great grandchildren.
Our mom, grandmother, and great grandmother was married to our amazing dad, Dick Joy. They met at Zuma beach in Malibu and together they lived a happy wonderful life for 63 years of a life filled with pure LOVE N “JOY”, great role models for so many.
De Anne went to high school in Billings, Montana and attended a few years of college at UCSB in Santa Barbara, California. One of her favorite jobs was working for Peter O’Malley and the Dodgers; many fun, fond memories were created there for all.
De Anne was a very creative woman: she loved to paint and loved to knit. Recently, she was into crocheting little colorful hearts that she would just randomly mail to those she loved or give to those who just needed a little heart of LOVE n Joy to make them smile.
She was a devoted Christian and loved her daily spiritual rituals. Most of all, she loved her family and instilled in her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren strong life lessons and values that will be cherished forever.
Her smile was bright and she was truly a ray of sunshine! She was silly and fun and had a heart of gold. She opened her heart to so many in her lifetime.
I think the greatest gift she gave to all was her kindness: it truly came from the heart and she was truly a kind, gentle, loving soul.
In lieu of flowers, please make someone smile and fill their heart with JOY by sending flowers to a friend (say "sending a little JOY your way").
Arrangements are under the direction of the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, Ventura.
