Obituary

Lifetime North Stonington resident Michael S. Miner, 62, passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack Monday afternoon, May 24, while at home working on his beloved farm.

Michael was loved by many and respected by all. After retiring from his job from the State of Connecticut, he could always be found working on his farm with a warm wave and a big smile for all who passed by, along with his dog Lulu and his sidekick Jackson.

Michael leaves behind his wife Cindy; and three children, Janice (Jim) Tuttle, Jennifer (Duke) Preston and Justin Miner all of North Stonington; as well as stepdaughters, Michelle (Brad) Hurlbert of Warwick, Mass., and Melissa Georlach of Ocala, Fla.; grandchildren, Jenna Melzer (Tristan), Jocelyn and James Tuttle of North Stonington, Jordan and Jarred Hurlbert of Warwick, Maas.; one great-granddaughter Mila also of North Stonington. He leaves behind his three brothers, Bruce (Sheila) of Pawcatuck, Harold (Annette) of Mystic, and Ricky of Vermont. He was predeceased by his parents, Stewart and Norma Miner and Jack and Sally Sylvia who had passed the farm on to Michael.

A celebration of life will be held at the farm at a later date.
