Mrs. Carolyn V. (Volk) Carney, a resident of Lawrence, formerly of Andover and beloved wife of the late Jeremiah A. Carney, passed awe at the Mary Immaculate Nursing Center in Lawrence on Saturday morning, May 29, 2021. She was 95 years old.
Born in Rocky Hill, New Jersey, she was the beloved daughter of the late Walter and Ann T. (McCarthy) Volk. Mrs. Carney was a Telephone Operator for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting, ceramics and coloring. A very social person, she loved meeting new people and had a wonderful sense of humor. Carolyn was a very religious person and was a long time communicant of St. Augustine Church in Andover. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her loving sons and daughters-in-law; Kevin E. and his wife Karen Carney of Andover and Robert W. and his wife Ruth Carney of Stratham, New Hampshire, cherished grandchildren; Rob, Monica, Kaitlin and Kevin "Bronko", dear great-grandchildren; Cierra, Kaley, Freddie, Tom, Declan, Sean and Finn and many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Shawn Carney.
