Obituary

SILVERI, Margaret Mary (Flint) of Needham and Falmouth, Passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on May 26, 2021. Beloved wife of 47 years of the late Anthony J. Silveri. Loving and devoted mother of Mark V. Silveri of Needham and Stephen D. Silveri and his wife, Jacy L. Wilson of Topsfield.  

Cherished daughter of the late Lewis J. Flint and Margaret (Hanley) Flint of Arlington.  Loving sister of the late Donald F. Flint and the late Lewis J. Flint, Jr.  Sister-in-law of the late June Flint of Dedham and Kathleen Flint, of Bluffton, SC. Cherished and devoted aunt of Stephen Flint and Lisa Coveney of Dedham and their children Joe and Steven, Robert and Lori Flint of Dedham and their children Candace and Jackie, Richard Flint of Foxboro, Michael and Eileen Flint of Foxboro and their children Donald and Michael, Julie and Kenneth Danti of Easton and their children Amanda and Justin, and Diane and Robert Greer of Foxboro and their child Lindsay. Devoted and loving friend of Connie and the late Richard Ponzini of Beverly.

A commercial artist and teacher, she earned her B.F.A. from Mass. College of Art, and her Ed.M from State Teachers College, Boston.  She was a five-year member of the Art Department at Lasell Junior College, Auburndale and later held a tenured teaching position for ten years at Arlington High School.  While working for the MITRE Corporation, her technical artwork included drawings of the excavation of NORAD and the first space suit. She left her career behind to devote herself to full-time motherhood. She continued to serve her community in various roles including Publicity Chairman for the Needham High Rock School PTC and Den Mother of Troop 4, Boy Scouts of America. Her family is eternally grateful for her countless sacrifices and selflessness.

Visiting hours at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home 1305 Highland Ave. Needham, on Tuesday, June 1st from 4-7pm. Funeral from the funeral home on Wednesday, June 2nd at 9am, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, Needham at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Needham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Margaret’s memory to MSPCA-Angell, 350 South Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02130.
