John Robert "Rob" Beal Jr., 51, of Auburn, NH, passed away after a tenacious battle with melanoma that had spread through his body and into his brain on Friday May 28, 2021, surrounded by his loving family in Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. He was born on August 22, 1969 in Attleboro, MA, a son of Naida (Peterson) Beal and the late Rev. John R. Beal Sr.
Rob gave his heart to the Lord and was baptized at the age of 10. He graduated from the University of Maine in Orono with his Bachelor’s Degree. While in college he played baseball and later was drafted by a major league team. He was a phenomenal athlete also, excelling in tennis, both on the court and on the table. He was an avid tennis fan, and also loved to watch Red Sox and Bruins games with his family. He was known to finance family trips that ranged from taking his brothers and nephews to the NCAA Frozen Four in various cities, as well as family trips that ranged from NH’s Lakes Region and all the way to Florida. He loved following his UMaine Hockey team and was a season ticket holder for years. Rob will also be remembered for his sense of humor, sharp wit and keen intellect. Often the life of the party, Rob would have everyone laughing to the point of tears. He also will be affectionately remembered by his nieces and nephews as “the favorite uncle”. Rob was a successful businessman and entrepreneur who was quite generous with his means.
In addition to his mother who resides in Londonderry, NH, Rob is also survived by two brothers, Stephen Beal and wife Amaris of Goffstown, NH and Peter Beal and wife Louise of Rochester, NH; one sister, Mary Beth St. Louis and husband Adam of Hooksett; sister-in-law Susan Beal of Goffstown, twelve beloved nieces and nephews, Rachel, Emma, Luke, Malcolm, Gideon, Zechariah, Stephen, Ryan, Erin, Sebastian, Theodore and Jacqueline.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 from 4 – 7 PM in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry. Funeral services will be held on Thursday June 3rd at 10:00 am in the funeral home with cremation to follow. For those in attendance, face mask usage and social distancing are recommended.
