Ellen Elaine Martin, 82, passed away peacefully on May 27th, 2021 at High Pointe Hospice in Haverhill, MA. Ellen was born December 12, 1938 in Yonkers, NY to Robert and Eleanor Bardwell. She was the oldest of three children. Ellen grew up in Yonkers, NY and attended Sacred Heart Grade and High Schools. She later married Thomas G. Martin and eventually moved to Carmel, NY. After the passing of her husband, she settled in the beautiful coastal community of Sunset Beach, NC where she enjoyed beach life with the company of family and close friends. She was an active member of St. Brendan's Roman Catholic Church and volunteered at their food pantry which she found very rewarding. Living there was her happy place.
Ellen is survived by her sister, Laighton Bohlender, her son William, and her daughter Maryellen as well as her grandchildren, Kyle, Keri and Kaity, a great-grandchild, and three step-children Patty Ann, David, and John. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas, her brother Robert, and step-son Tommy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Derry, NH at 10:00am on June 4, 2021 with interment at Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY at a later date where she will reunite with her husband Tom.
We would like to thank Beaver Lake Lodge, an assisted living facility in Derry NH, for providing a warm and comfortable home that she loved for the past few years.
