Obituary

Auburn - William J. Rynders, 74, of Auburn, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 24, 2021 in the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence after a brief illness.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Elaine J. (Bleau) Rynders and a brother Jack Rynders and his wife, Sandy of Wheatland, WI. Bill is also mourned by his second family Bob Bleau, Paul & Irene Bleau and Denise and Jon Parlier and many nieces and nephews in both families. Bill was born in Milwaukee, WI son of the late Raymond and Bernice (Block) Rynders and is also predeceased by a brother, James Rynders and sisters-in-law Annette and Patty Bleau. Bill will also be missed by his cherished pets Lillian and Loretta.

Bill graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee and later continued his education at Wayne State University where he attained a master’s degree. He was an associate professor of set and lighting design and technical production in the theater department at the College of the Holy Cross for over 25 years.

Bill was a collector of model trains and belonged to both the Bay State Model Railroad Museum and Worcester Model Railroaders. He was an avid photographer and enjoyed auto racing, cycling and sailing. Bill was a former member of the Cathedral of Saint Paul and currently belonged to North American Martyrs Church.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021 in North American Martyrs Church 8 Wyoma Drive Auburn. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11 in the church prior to the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bill's memory may be made to Second Chance Animal Rescue 111 Young Road East Brookfield, MA 01515.
