Jean Herault Marseille, age 78, of Stoughton, died peacefully Tuesday, May 25, 2021. Jean was the loving husband of Marie Adna (Preval) Marseille and son of the late Antoine and Cleante (Cormier) Marseille. Born, raised and educated in Trouin, Haiti, he had been a resident of Stoughton for the past 50 years. While living in Haiti, he was an accountant, and for 30 years he was employed as a Technician at HP Hood dairy company.
Jean was devoted to his family and one of his greatest wishes was to see his children educated and become self-sufficient and independent individuals. He had a strong faith and could be found on many occasions at his church worshipping, singing and praying. Jean was also known for giving good advice to others.
Jean is survived by his children, Genese Marseille and her husband Franciste Joseph of Stoughton, Magdala Marseille of Boston, MarcoPolo Marseille and his wife Carine of Boston, Judeth Romain and her husband Jefferson Romain of Holbrook, Emmanuel Marseille of Boston and Christina Marseille of Stoughton. He was the grandfather of Frantzy Joseph, Joshua Joseph and Ella Joi Romain; brother of Antonise Alexandre, Marie Obas, Pierre Delouis Marseille, Cleone Sanon, Ricardo Cormier, Yvon Marseille, Lucien Marseille and Edner Marseille. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held in the Brockton Tabernacle Church, 696 North Main Street, Brockton, Saturday, June 12, from 9-10am, with a funeral service at 10am. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
