John William McWithey, 58, of Monticello, Kentucky, died May 26, 2021 at his residence after a brief illness.
He was born May 29, 1962, in Anderson, the son of Bill McWithey and Thelma (Jim) Walker. He was most passionate about Indy car racing and never missed a beat. H e may have taken his last pace lap, but he has not taken his final victory lap.
He was an electrician most of his adult life at various locations.
He is survived by his partner, Susie Brandenburg; children, Kirby McWithey and Michelle (Gabriel Ryan) McWithey; sisters, Pam (Gary) McWithey-Delaplane, Vicki (Mark) Smith and Beth Goff; grandson, Sage Ryan; a niece, Rachel Smith; great-nephews, Autry and Andrew Smith; aunt, Ruth Barney; and uncle, Ron McWithey and many close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Keith Wooden of Ovid Community Church officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
