Richard Vincent “Rick” Nier, 57, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Wednesday, March 29, 2006, at his residence.
A Praise and Worship Service celebrating the life of Rick will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, April 1, 2006 at The Church Of The Nazarene, with Rev. Dan Hayes officiating.
Mr. Nier was born June 18, 1948, in Bronx, New York to Eliza Anderson Nier and the late Henry Frank Nier, Sr. He was an appliance and air conditioner technician while living in Florida and the maintenance supervisor for Colony Square Apartments in Fitzgerald. He had lived in the community for the past three years coming from Cape Coral, Florida. He was a member of the Fitzgerald Church of the Nazarene and a Vietnam Veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Nier is survived by his wife: Rita A. Nier of Fitzgerald; one son and daughter-in-law: Richard Vincent “Rick”, Jr. & Jennifer Nier of Winona Lake, IN; two daughters and sons-in-law: Robin Suzanne & Jeff Eason of Fitzgerald and Rebecca Ann “Becky” & Ralph Littlefield of Albany; eight grandchildren; mother: Eliza A. Nier of Ft. Myers, FL; one brother and sister-in-law: Henry Frank “Hank”, Jr. & Aurie Nier of Putnam Valley, NY; and one sister: Loretta Tipton of Ft. Myers, FL. He was preceded in death by his father and a granddaughter: Suzanne Robin Eason.
