Dale A. Tessier, Sr., age 75, a lifelong resident of Mansfield passed away, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at the VA Medical Center in West Roxbury.
Born in Attleboro, MA on April 11, 1946, he was a loving son of the late Andrew J. and Helen M. (Gaboury) Tessier.
Dale grew up in town, was educated in Mansfield schools and was a 1965 graduate of Mansfield High School. During the time of the Vietnam War, he proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force for over three years. He was honorably discharged on February 10, 1969 with the rank of Sergeant (E-4).
Mr. Tessier’s working career was spent as a general contractor, truck driver and along with his lifelong friend Richard Staples, operated the former RD Sealcoating Company and Premiere Farms.
Dale was a member of the Mansfield and Norton VFW’s, where he spent many a times socializing with friends. He had a passion for cars and motorcycles, and especially loved attending all of his grandchildren’s events.
He is survived by his devoted children: Dale A. Tessier, Jr. and his wife Carin of North Attleboro and Dawn M. Littig and her husband Andy of Attleboro. He was the cherished and proud grandfather of Angelia Littig, Cameron Littig, Hannah Tessier and Emma Tessier. He was the dear brother of Nancy Masterson of Florida, Ronald Tessier of North Carolina, Wendy Lallier of Middleboro, Dennis Tessier of Mansfield, Gary Tessier of Mansfield, Cindy Tessier of Shirley, Kevin Tessier of Attleboro and Scott Tessier of Mansfield. He is also survived by many-many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, June 6th from 4:00-6:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 7th at 9:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial with military honors will follow at 11:15 A.M. at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Avenue, in Bourne.
Due to the limitation of flowers allowed at the National Cemetery, Dale’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the Norton VFW Post 8049, P.O. Box 1107, Norton, MA 02766.
