Bradley Snell passed away peacefully at home with his family on May 18th. Born in Fall River, he was a lifelong resident of Little Compton. He was the husband of the late Dianne J. (Thompson) Snell. Dad, who was an Army vet, had a great love for his town, country and his family.
Mr. Snell was born in Fall River, son of the late Arthur and Edith M. (Chase) Snell. He loved everything he did, from his paper route as a kid, that paid for his first bike, to delivering food for Wilbur store. He served three years at Fort Sill Oklahoma with the 184th Ordinance Battalion after graduating high school in 1956. When he returned home he eventually met the love of his life, got married and being a young carpenter, he built his house with some help from his family. After his service he wanted to be a police officer like his father, but his future wife said, "no way". He then attended drafting classes at Rhode Island School of Design, while working at Tower Iron Works in Seekonk.
His favorite accomplishments are, building his home, serving as past Noble Grand Officer of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, former member of Little Compton town council and the Board of canvassers, Cub Scout Troop leader and he also helped organize Little Compton basketball league. He joined Electric Boat, North Kingstown in 1976 as a numerical control analyst, Dept 935, and retired in 1996. One of the lucky ones able to enjoy his retirement.
