Obituary

Mary Irene (Costello) Cedrone, 64, of Marshfield died March 28 at home after a brief battle with leukemia. A resident of Marshfield for the past 37 years, she was most recently the Outreach Coordinator for the Duxbury Council on Aging.
Previously, Mrs. Cedrone worked at South Shore Elder Protective Services, Pembroke Hospital, and St. Christine’s Church. She earned her Masters degree in Pastoral Ministry from Boston College in 1982, prior to which she had been a Title One tutor at the Gov. Winslow School in Marshfield and a teacher at the Snug Harbor School in Quincy. She was also an active volunteer for Sowing Seeds and St. Christine’s Church, both in Marshfield.
Mrs. Cedrone was a proud 1959 graduate of Archbishop Williams High School in Braintree and 1963 graduate of Boston College. She remained an active alumna throughout her life. She enjoyed traveling, playing tennis, and walking, especially along the beaches in Marshfield, as well as cheering on the Boston College sports teams.
Daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Costello, she was the beloved wife of Stephen Cedrone; mother to Jeffrey and his wife Eileen of Marshfield, Kevin and his wife Jennifer of Marshfield and Andrea Robbins and her husband Gregory of Braintree; and sister of Catherine Costello of Reading and Joseph Costello, Jr. of South Boston. She was also the very dear and devoted grandmother of Brianna Cedrone of Marshfield, Kyle Cedrone of Marshfield, and Catherine Robbins of Braintree.
Visiting hours Thursday 1:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9 :00 PM
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, March 31 at St. Christine’s Church, Main Street, Marshfield. Burial will be at Couch Cemetery in Marshfield.
