Kenneth E. Ferreira, 88, of Provincetown and Wellfleet passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 22, 2021. He was a barber for 65 years, owning and operating Mr. Ken’s Barbershop at 64 Main Street Orleans, Massachusetts.
Born in Provincetown, he was a Provincetown High School basketball captain and was named to the Class C Tech Tournament All-Star team by the Boston Newspapers. He was a member of the first basketball team from Provincetown to play in the Boston Garden. A US Air Force veteran, he served with the First Tow Target Squadron. While stationed at Biggs Air Force base in Texas, he was named to the Base All-Tournament Team.
Ken was an avid Boston Sports fan, and would never miss a single Celtics or Red Sox game.
He has left his loving family; wife Patricia Ferreira, daughter Patti Carreiro, who was always there for him, his son-in-law Jerry Carreiro, his grandchildren, Jenna Carreiro, Jon Carreiro, and Ken, and his wife, Madison Carreiro. They were the joy of his life.
A Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 27th at St. Peter the Apostle Church, 11 Prince St, Provincetown. Burial will follow in St Peters Cemetery. Covid-19 guidelines for gatherings, face coverings and social distancing, will be followed at the church and cemetery.
