Worcester – Charles T. Fosberry, 18 of Worcester, passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021 with his family by his side in UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus after a courageous battle with leukemia.
Charlie is survived by his loving parents, James E. and Jessica M. (LaBarre) Fosberry; his two brothers, George W. Fosberry and Alan C. Fosberry; two sisters, Sarah J. Fosberry and Rachel E. Fosberry, all of Worcester; his maternal grandparents, George and Paulette LaBarre of Auburn; his maternal grandmother, Claire Fosberry of Gloucester; many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. He was born in Worcester, and is predeceased by his paternal grandfather, William Fosberry.
Charlie was born in Worcester and was a lifelong resident of Worcester. He graduated from South High School where he attended the Goddard Scholars Program. Upon graduation, Charlie enrolled at Becker College and had been working for Shaw’s Supermarket at the Webster Square Plaza.
While at South High School, Charlie was a member of the South High band, where he played the trumpet. He ran on the cross-country team and spent many days after school with his friends playing Dungeons and Dragons.
During his youth Charlie was part of the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 37, played AAA baseball for Jesse Burkett and volunteered for many years as an altar server at Our Lady of the Angels Church. Charlie also played the cello with the Joy of Music Orchestra, and took lessons there for many years. During his free time Charlie enjoyed gaming with his friends and could often be found drawing, but most of all he enjoyed being with his family.
The family would like to thank the Pediatric Staff and the Pediatric Oncology team at UMass Memorial Medical Center for their loving care of Charlie during his illness.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 11 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church 1222 Main St. Worcester (Please go directly to church). Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 27 from 5 to 7 PM in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester. Memorial contributions in memory of Charlie may be made to the Joy of Music Program 1 Gorham Street Worcester, MA 01605.
