Gladys Betty Jane (Carter) Parkhurst, 94, of Anderson died May 22, 2021 at Ascension St. Vincent Anderson after an extended illness.
Gladys was born July 15, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of David and Elizabeth (Vine) Carter. She worked in food service 33 years at St. John's Hospital now Ascension.
She is survived by her daughter, Roberta (Ron) Smith of Anderson many grandchildren and great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Melvin Parkhurst; sister, Florence; brothers, John, Morley, Bob, Russell Carter and children, William, John and Harry Parkhurst and a grandson Thomas.
Funeral service will be held at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service at noon on Thursday, May 27, 2021 with Pastor Ned Clark of Chesterfield Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday from 10 a.m. until the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to American Heart Association.
