Charles E. Price, 86, of Anderson, passed to his Heavenly home on Friday, May 21, 2021 from his residence while surrounded by his loving family after an extended illness.
He was born on May 30, 1934 in Spring City, Tennessee, the son of Charles Gordon and Ina A. (Mitchell) Price. He was employed by Delco Remy as a Utility Operator for 37.6 years retiring in 1990 and enjoyed wood working, metal working, and gardening. Charles was well known for the big crop of delicious tomatoes he raised for many years. He was also known for lending a helping hand to those in need.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Dorothy (Hill) Price; three children, Gary Price, Karen (Doug) Gale, and Tim (Carol) Price all of Anderson; six grandchildren, Brandon(Abby) Gale, Cody Price, Kasi (Vernon) Shelton, Austin Price, TJ Price, Josh Price and step-grandson, Brady Gale; two sisters, Lucille McClendon and Regina (Bennie) Reed; two brothers, Mike (Linda) Price and Bennie (Vicki) Price; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; and great great niece and nephews; and close family friend, Joe Stanley and family.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, his baby sister, Doris Price; brother, Bobby Price; brother-in-law, Lonnie McClendon and special nephew, Private First Class Toby Baker.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Gary Cable officiating. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
