Obituary

Jose M. Velho, 53, died Tuesday, March 28, at the Boston Medical Center in Boston after a long illness. He was the husband of Ana (Freitas) Velho. Born in Flores, Azores, Portugal he was educated in Flores. Mr. Velho moved to the United States in 1973, settling in Stoughton. Mr. Velho worked for Raytheon in Andover in many capacities for 28 years. He was a member of Club Luis de Camoes in Stoughton and IBEW Local 1505. In his free time, he enjoyed working in his vegetable garden.

In addition to his wife Ana, he is survived by his son, Manuel F. Velho of Stoughton. He was the son of Vital Velho of Stoughton and the late Filomena (Gonsalves) Velho. Mr. Velho was the brother of Isabel Camara and Filomena Sackos both of Stoughton and Constantino Velho of Portugal. He was the brother in law of Maria O’Neill and her husband John of Canton and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, March 31 at 9:15 followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton on Friday at 10:15 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday 5-8 PM. Donations in his name may be made to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, 01701. Burial will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
