Mary Evelyn Luke Conger, 64, of Chula passed away Friday, May 21, 2021, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2021, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Dr. Greg Love officiating. Mrs. Conger will be laid to rest at Luke Cemetery in Ben Hill County. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 24, 2021, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Born September 16, 1956 in Fitzgerald, Mrs. Conger was the daughter of the late Charles Edward Luke, Sr. and Ruth Worley Luke. She received her Master’s degree in Education from the University of Georgia and she was a retired educator. She served as a Georgia FFA advisor for 19 years; director of the Georgia FFA Foundation for the state for 8 years; and served as Environmental Horticulture advisor at Tiftarea Academy for Southern Regional Tech Col for 9 years before retiring and traveling with he husband. She was a member of Crossview Baptist Church in Tifton and enjoyed doing CrossFit training.
Mrs. Conger is survived by her husband of 37 years, David Conger of Chula; one son, Charles David Conger of Chula; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles Edward “Eddie” Jr. and Patsy Luke and their daughter, Lilli Luke, all of Arabi.
