SPRINGFIELD – Shirley E. (Webb) Clifford, 93, of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Friday, May 21, 2021. She passed into Eternal Life at the Jewish Geriatric Services in Longmeadow surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Springfield on January 12, 1928, the daughter of the late Sidney and Dorothy (Conant) Webb. She was raised in Springfield, graduated from the High School of Commerce in 1945 and lived in Springfield until moving to Cape Coral, Florida in 1978. In 2000 she returned to Springfield where she lived the remainder of her life. She was an Executive Secretary and the Office Manager for the Florida Health Department. She was a communicant of Saint Stephen Orthodox Church in Springfield. She leaves her beloved husband and soul mate, Reverend Richard W. Clifford. They were married on February 18, 1978 in Enfield, Connecticut and were blessed with over 43 years of happiness together. She also leaves her two loving brothers, Robert Webb and his wife, Linda, of Cape Cod and David Webb and his wife, Marilyn, of Longmeadow; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her dear sister and brother in law, Marjorie Robertson and her husband, George; and her dear brother in law, Westell John Clifford. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. in Saint Stephen Orthodox Church, 400 Wilbraham, Road, Springfield, MA 01109. Her Burial will follow the Requiem Mass at Oak Grove Cemetery, 426 Bay Street, Springfield, MA 01109. Please note that masks are required, social distancing must be observed and Church and cemetery capacity is limited due to state regulations. Her funeral arrangements are entrusted to the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107.
