Malek Elhayek, age 50, of South Easton, died unexpectedly, May 19, 2021 at Good Samaritan Medical Center. He was the loving husband of Joelle (Yaacoub) Elhayek. Born and raised in Aktanit, Lebanon, he was the son of Lonia (Atallah) Elhayek of Lebanon and the late Georges Elhayek.
Malek was a loving husband and devoted father who always put his family first. He was involved in his three daughter’s lives in every way-from what they had for breakfast to driving hours from state to state to watch them play a soccer game. He was their number one fan. Malek loved to go hunting with his friends and the trip always had to end with a breakfast of a raw kibbeh plate and fried eggs outdoors. He was the #1 raffle ticket seller in the parish parties. In fact, everyone joked and called him Deacon. Malek also loved to play cards, and if he was asked who won he would reply, “Is that even a questions? I’m the master of 400” and he would tease all his friends for days. Malek was proud of his roots and loved his village Aktanit. He always dreamed of going back there to retire with his childhood friends.
Malek was the loving father of Sarah, Lynn and Joy Elhayek and brother of Jihad Elhayek of Lebanon, Majida Elhayek of Lebanon, Antoine Elhayek of Easton and Fadia Elhayek Mouhasseb of Lebanon.
