James A. Barbuto Jr. (Chip to friends and family) passed away Thursday May 20, 2021.
Chip, a lifelong resident of Dedham and a veteran of the Vietnam war, graduated from Wentworth Institute of Technology making his father and mother James and Susan, who immigrated from Italy at 16, proud as he became the first generation American in the family to graduate from college. He worked as a civil engineer until his retirement in 2009. He was predeceased by his sister Doris and is survived and will be missed by his brother Robert, sister Patricia, beloved nephew Rob, grandnephews Logan and Lucas, sister-in-law Andrea, nephews Jeff and Jerry, grandnieces Acadia and Rose. Last, but by no means least, Hilo and Lucy, pugs offered great comfort and companionship during his last years.
A private funeral service will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, Dedham followed by a private burial in Highland Cemetery, Norwood. Expressions of sympathy may be made in James’ memory to the American Heart Association, 300 5th Ave, Waltham, MA 02451.
