SPENCER: Kathleen A. Wales, 73, of 30 Condon Dr., died Thursday, May 20 at her home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Edward J. Wales who died in 2007. She leaves a son, Thomas E. Wales and his partner Frank Furnari of Quincy, two daughters: Suzi A. Wallace and her husband Joshua of Belchertown, Brenda M. Wales of Spencer, two grandchildren, Patrick and Owen Wallace.
Born in Astoria, NY she was the daughter of Dennis and Margaret (McElhinney) O’Neill. Edward and Kathleen relocated to Spencer in 1976 to raise their family where they started a hobby farm raising cows, pigs, and chickens. Kathleen loved gardening and tending to her many houseplants. It was in Spencer that Kathleen started Kathy’s Styling Salon that built up an extremely loyal clientele. She begrudgingly closed her shop in 2008. In addition to taking care of her family and running her own salon, Kathleen took care of several individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities.

The J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer is assisting the family with arrangements.
