In Raynham, John Masterson, Age 78, passed away peacefully in his home following a lengthy illness on May 20, 2021. John leaves his beloved wife, Bernadette (Berthao) Masterson. He was born in Taunton, the son of the late Edward & Madeline (Simmons) Masterson. John resided in Raynham and Taunton his entire life. He attended Taunton schools. John was a former Teamster Local #25 and following his time there worked several other jobs. John was a communicant of Holy Family Parish in East Taunton, where he was an active member. He was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society and was very proud of his 45 years of service with the Southeastern Umpires Association. John had many other interest but most of all he cherished his time with family, especially his loving grandchildren. In addition to his wife Bernadette, John leaves his daughter Rebecca Reyes and her fiancé Eric Jamieson of Taunton and grandchildren Alexi Reyes of Worcester and Kylie Reyes of Taunton. He also leaves several nieces and nephews and his two late siblings. Funeral home visiting hours will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Thursday, May 27th from 5-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 28th at Holy Family Church in East Taunton at 9am. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in John’s memory to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, 141 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780.
