Joyce L. Lavoie, of Medford, died Thursday at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, surrounded by her family. She was 76.
Born and raised in Somerville. She was the daughter of the late William and Mary (Boncore) Garten.
Joyce was a devoted woman to her family and loved spending time with them. She was very active at the Medford Senior Center where she served as the vice-president. She also ran the bingo games. Over the years she made many friends there. Joyce also enjoyed listening to 50’s music and dancing with her late husband.
She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur E. Lavoie, Joyce was the devoted mother of Donald Lavoie and his wife Catherine of Bradenton, FL, Tracy Beers and her husband Robert of Peabody. She was the loving grandmother of Evan, Justin and Ryan, the loving sister of William Garten and his wife Carmella of Saugus, Beverly Mealey and her husband Don of South Carolina, David Garten and his wife Sylvia of California. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Tuesday, May 25th from 4 to 7 PM. Interment will be private.
