Mrs. Agnes Walker Davis, 96, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Tuesday, March 28, 2006, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M., Thursday, March 30, 2006, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. John K. Mobley officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Davis was born January 12, 1910, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Archie M. and Emma Dixon Walker. She was a homemaker and a farm wife and had lived in the community all of her life. Mrs. Davis was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church, the Benevolence Committee and a member of the Women’s Missionary Union. She enjoyed working in her yard, gardening, fishing and she was an avid baseball fan
Mrs. Davis is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Latrelle & Carroll Kirkland of Fitzgerald; 2 grandchildren; Glenn & Howard Davis, both of Fitzgerald; 6 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister: Elsie Taylor of Fitzgerald. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Davis, son, H.T. “Smut” Davis, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
