McCANN, John F. McCann (Jake), 67, from Carver, formerly of Dedham, passed away Saturday May 15, 2021 from complications after a long illness. Jake was a graduate of Dedham High School class of 1971. He was a sergeant in the United States Army from which he retired after many years of service. Jake lived in many places throughout his Army career and later in his retirement expanded his love to travel with his wife, Paula. He enjoyed working in his wood shop at his home in Dedham when he was younger and continued woodworking until recently when he got sick. He also loved Blues music and going to festivals and live performances. One of his favorites was a yearly trip to Maine with his wife for the North Atlantic Blues Festival. He always had a place in his heart for dogs and will be greatly missed by his current pets Nikki and Rosco.
Jake leaves behind his wife Paula (Barsanti) of Carver (formerly of Dedham), his son Zachary and daughter in law Kristina of Peabody, his brother Bob of Norwood, sister Lynn Charlton and her husband Ray of Somerset, Bermuda, brother Bruce and his husband Rafael of Aliso VieJo, CA, brother James and his wife Ann of Weymouth, and brother Brian of Plymouth. He also leaves nephews Michael, Andrew, Kyle, Brennan, Jimbo and Gus, and nieces Ali, Alison, Brooke, Sasha and Kory.
Visiting hours at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., DEDHAM on Monday, May 24 from 4:00-8:00pm. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne on Tuesday, May 25 at 1:45pm.
