Juliet Joan Tashjian, “Joanie,” age 81, of Tewksbury, formerly of Chelsea, passed away on May 15, 2021 after a long illness.
Beloved daughter of the late Harry Haroutoun and Gladys Yerchanig (Kibarian) Tashjian. Devoted mother of Samara Gallagher and her husband Michael of Hampton, NH, and the late Joseph Kulpa. Proud grandmother of Michael Gallagher of Livermore, CA, and Samara Gallagher and Ava Gallagher of Hampton, NH. Dear sister of the late Florence Cirino and her husband William of Wakefield and Margaret Penerian and late husband Arthur of Florida. Loving aunt of Tamara DerAnanian and her husband Stephen Gigante of Wakefield and John DerAnanian and his wife Nancy of Tewksbury and many nieces and nephews.
After retiring from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Joanie worked at the Cracker Barrel restaurant gift shop and was a member of the Order Sons and Daughters of Italy Tewksbury Lodge 2872. She loved animals, singing, cooking, decorating, and spending time with her friends and family. She spoke fondly of her trip to Egypt as a child to visit family, was the best Turkish coffee cup reader, enjoyed western and horror movies, and was a very proud American. She loved her Sons of Italy, Carter Green, and Cracker Barrel families.
Services at Tewksbury Cemetery on Thursday, May 20th at 12:00. Friends and family are respectfully invited to attend.
