Julia (Lopes) Mingola, 101, of New Bedford died May 15, 2021 peacefully at the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home. She was the wife of the late Manuel Mingola.
Born in Brava, Cape Verde, the daughter of the late Manuel and Emariana (Lomba) Lopes, she lived in New Bedford for the last 49 years.
Survivors include her sister, Eugenia Lessa of New Bedford; a niece, Margie Barros of Denver; a great-niece, Courtney Rego and great-nephews, John Alves, Jr. and Aaron Alves.
She was the sister of the late Maria Fortes, Berta Pires, Laura Andrade, Joana Lopes, John Lopes and Antonio Lopes and the aunt of the late Marie Lessa Alves.
Her visiting hours will be held on Sunday, May 23rd from 2-4 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
